This blog and dragon (a.k.a Dasha), is here for the
beginning, intermediate, advanced, and just plain imaginative crocheters. I
focus on projects that bring joy, like adorable stuffed animals to dolls, hats,
scarves, and blankets that portray characters or logos from books, television,
and movies.
So what makes this dragon stand out? First and foremost, I
believe in straightforward patterns with lots of pictures so you never get
lost. Plus, I love variation- sure you want your scarf to look cool, but you
have a unique eye and personality. I want to support your vision for your
project every step of the way. My goal is to give you the basics so you can go
on and make fantastic crochet projects all your own. And if you really love my
vision, feel free to make it just like mine. Either way, I’m here for you to
find joy in crocheting no matter what.
In order to make cute
nerdy things, I obviously do a lot of reading and movie watching (mostly with
my husband and son). My favorite authors are Brandon Sanderson, Jim Butcher,
Gail Carson Levine, Rick Riordan, and Terry Pratchett. Some of my favorite
movie franchises are Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings, Avengers, and
Disney. Of course, most of my crocheting
is done while binge watching Netflix. I love Supernatural, Dr. Who, Sherlock,
Firefly and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I also am a musical geek (I sing and play
the piano when I’m not craftng) so I find myself crocheting Phantom of the
Opera, Into the Woods, and Les Miserables projects to name a few.
Sometimes the internet doesn’t always have what you’re
looking for. That’s often why I make up my own patterns. If you have an idea
for a project but don’t know where to start, shoot me an e-mail or tweet! I’d
be happy to collaborate with you. Your questions will lead to the answer so
many others are looking for too.
If you’d like, you can follow this Dasha dragon on Twitter,
Instagram, Facebook, and Etsy.
So welcome and keep on crafting, fellow dragons.
